Yaniv Elharrar, PhD

Dr. Yaniv Elharrar, the co-director of the West Island Therapy Centre, has been working with children, adolescents, and their families for the past fifteen years. He specializes in conducting assessments (psychological, psychoeducational, developmental, custody, etc) and providing therapy and counseling.

He obtained his Bachelor’s of Science degree from Concordia University, a Master’s degree from the Université de Montréal in Psychoéducation, and he earned his doctorate degree in Psychology from the Université du Québec a Montréal. Dr. Elharrar is also a member in good standing with the Ordre des Psychologues du Québec.

For over the past ten years, Dr. Elharrar has been in private practice affiliated with a well-established, multidisciplinary pediatric clinic in the West Island. In addition, he currently acts as an expert consultant for various schools, school boards, medical clinics and educational boards across Quebec.

Lisa Brookman, MSW, PSW

Lisa Brookman, the co-director of the West Island Therapy Centre, is an individual couple and family therapist. Lisa has gained valuable professional insight and experience working in her field for the past 13 years. Lisa has extensive experience having worked in both the public and private health care sectors in Quebec. She specializes in issues related to reproductive mental health such as infertility, postpartum depression, and adoption as well as marital issues, divorce, depression, anxiety, self-esteem and confidence issues, curatorships, and loss and bereavement.

Lisa received her bachelor degree in social work from McGill University and her Masters degree in social work from the Université de Montreal. She has studied couple and family therapy, and she has received additional training in Cognitive

behavioural therapy at McGill University. She is a member in good standing of the Ordre Professionnel des Travailleurs Sociaux du Québec. Lisa has aligned herself with prestigious clinics, associations and organizations throughout Quebec.

The psychotherapeutic approach Lisa uses in her practice is both cognitive behavioural and solution focused/goal oriented. Short or long term therapy is provided for depression, anxiety, stress management, self-esteem and relationship difficulties.

Lisa strongly believes in empowering her clients to create positive, long lasting outcomes for even the most challenging life issues.
